Chapter 1 Parable
02:12
|
|||
No one knows where, or if it was early or late
They were Mole & Dragon The Great
Mole doomed to be shrouded in mystery
Wandering, he was eager to use the power of vision to see,
To hear & be…
And then he decided to steal an acute Dragon`s eyesight
While He slumbered away, Mole extracted The Great`s eye,
But the blind can’t become utterly engrossed in the divinity or light
Or Feel the whole its might
Feeling frisson Mole ventured to take up only one eye
And hid another one from Dragon somewhere, oh my, why?
But at once the light burst out and through, as an unruly river
He’d behold the whole disaster of the universe, dying from cold fever
Dragon heard Mole`s crying & lamentation for salvation
And he found lifeless body suffocated to expiration
But he couldn`t turn on the waterworks over Mole
Picked up remaining eye and vanished with his soul full of torment.

It's the middle of November. Atmosphere of cold evening in the crestfallen town
Mixture of rain & snow plunges into murk like monolith in which night is gowned
You see fuzzy edges of nigrescent houses and trudging people
Suddenly, like a passing fad, soggy savanna is crippled by blast wave of rippling wind
Black clouds hanging low overhead
Cold raindrops twist around and jet
Falling into mud, don`t turn to snow
Dissolve and die in puddles slow
Cars keep creeping forward
Following like beasts
One after another aftermath
Crawling along the dark path.
One car stands out
From the traffic flow
It`s racing at high speed
Resolutely, like the road is clear
In the slow float of passersby
A hurdle, a woman with a 5 year old child
They’re wandering around
Waiting for someone this late hour.
The car stops nearby them.
Smartly dressed woman gets out
Some dialogue and cold embrace
She kisses the girl and gets into the car with her
Leaving the other woman outside, Ah!

Chapter 3 Empty Street
02:35
|
|||
So now... we'll have to walk home.
As she left her friends at night alone,
I don't know what had happened to her there
Seems like she had an urgent affair
But we have to go. Hurry up!
Can you hear approaching curfew?
We have time until midnight
God will take care of us it'll be all alright
We`ll walk along that old factory
Then make left turn and go straight a few blocks
That`s the beginning of our elaborate trajectory
But, I don’t know how to go farther- will ask passersby.
«Come on, Jill,
I am frozen and you are too probably
We have to go into arch, that is black as night».
The flow of people gradually thinning
They trudge to collide with gray murk.
Emerge slowly from the wet fog
And disappearing in that misting
And for them we are two fragile shadows
Arisen from turbidity of dirty puddles
Gradually the sounds of the streets faded away
And replaced by repetitive rain patter on the overhang
Elemental improvisation with the metronomic steps
And the eyes fogged up and feel the sweet numbness
We go out in the cacophonic or harmony of the universe.

Chapter 4 Factory
02:38
|
|||
On that vast territory of the factory
Which impending doom was exemplary,
The land is defiled for many miles around
Within sight you see only garbage dumped and waste ground
Whatever it is, it's weird
Even birds will not build their nests there
As a pack of stray dogs shy away from this space
Neither for us nor for our descendants will be suitable this place
And the wind reigns here, it is gaining power
Fury whirlwind walks along infected quarry
It mournfully roars and mutters,
It bitterfully howls «Stabat mater»
Rusty railroad track crosses our way
Like in the dream, chain of wagons stopped
Almost reaching its terrible destination point
The point of arrival is where the earth meets the gray sky
Train keep rushing up with its vile bulk
And with its dead vents - train clinging clouds
We will circumvent that damn place
Broken road leads away
We wandered through it drowning in cold clay
Rusty barrier obstructs the outlet
It is like a frontier that separates this world
There is a dark abyss beyond,
Waiting for us in its confines
No matter, we cross the line.

Chapter 5 Whirlwind
01:56
|
|||
Winter came early here
Wind raging like ferocious beast
And tossing in a circle creating a whirlwind
It Throws ice chips, and they sting like needles
Straight and narrow path is hidden in murk
Two people go with their heads bowed
They should start from the beginning
To find the last bit where the circle closes

Chapter 6 Garden Square
01:55
|
|||
What a strange place they got in
There is a fenced ancient garden square
Creaking Gates opened up to let in two voyagers
But no one is happy to see them there.
Formidable glory of century - old oaks
Slender rows of gnarled apple trees
Marble countenances of forgotten Gods
They welcome unasked invitees
Fallen columns entwined with vine
Fountain water hasn’t gurgled for a long time
Over the head arches are closed
In a cloth of interwoven boughs
In a clear atmosphere
There is a pungent smell of decaying leaves
Nature is stiffened here like in a dream
And with it, the time slows down and down
Onetime variety of those dry flowers
Will be buried under a first snow cover
The sleeping garden is left behind
Leaving us with a vague disquiet
The brightness of the bygone colors, its sadness
Is a reminder of all living things impermanence?

Chapter 7 Hunger
02:18
|
|||
Snow falls from heavenly heights
We are witnessing in slow motion
Those traces left behind
Soon will be swathed with a white cloth
A huge curtain dropped to the ground
Obsession lurks ahead
A long ago abandoned city we see now
In a mourning white clad
Chorus:
City sprung up in front of us
It`s all chancy, like in a dream we're going
Through the labyrinth of infinite highway
You feel fear inside- you are dismayed
I feel the touch of hush
And the yield of the folly mind
It is impossible to find a clear caveat
Of what is happening here.
And in my head rings the dreary song sound
Barely audible, it summons
Flaring glow flickers out
Beckoning with its golden ocher light
There will be the end of a lone nomadic
Out of tune votes grow louder
That lent venom to rising panic tic
Originating bad feelings that turned into hectic
I throw the door wide open
The dirty dog was sitting here beside
Staring like gatekeeper unspoken
Now impossible to go in or out

Chapter 8 Entrance
02:23
|
|||
I don't know how far we descended downwards
For me the running of time was frozen
Before the door opened farther way we have halted
And we met an odd looking hostess
A woman of small stature - the shriveled, old crone
Dressed in a ridiculous frock of purple cloth
Crone had a black sharpened eye.
That was glaring on my child
That was glaring at my child
At the entrance hospitable mistress welcomed us,
And in silent invitation her head was bowed
The candle light illuminated and sheltered us timidly
We were the only guests for a hundred years approximately.
A dark hallway landing leads us farther
Cluttered with all manner of rubbish and junk
I hear a voice familiar to me
It tinkles from far away
Long-forgotten waltz it plays.

The record disc rotates quickly, then slowly
Nastily distorting the vocal motive
Nonetheless music is wonderful
I know that melody, I want to be cuddled
By a mother that gives caresses to her offspring
I dance impetuously between the white apple trees
Exposing the pale face to the sun
At May noon it is so warm and cloudless
And the song of my youth is awesome
Soon I meet my future spouse
Memories fade away with the music
The hostess invites us to the dining table
The variety of viands, expensive wine - I can`t refuse it
Where from such abundance is?
We have a candlelight dinner in silence
We lay down to sleep on a low bed
Candles extinguished, the silence deepened
The voice of anxiety whispers in my ear again and again
I want to embrace Jill and hug her tightly then
But my eyes are closing and I see the same dream the same old dream!

Chapter 10 Slumber
02:26
|
|||
I lie in a white boat on the stern
My pensive gaze directed to the heaven -
On cloud parade, it has changeable pattern
They are carrying rain of teardrops with them
My husband leaned with the force on the oars
Joyful news I have to tell him
I have a new Life inside of me
It started this spring
Sun is closed by the storm clouds
The cold wind raised a wave
I feel guilty because he drowned then,
I couldn't save my spouse
Instead, I fell out of the boat
Cold water burned my skin
And still I can improve the scene
But I sink slowly to the bottom
I am watching myself from deep bottom
She is horrified and leaning over the side
Reaches out into the black maelstrom
And I reach for her with hand of mine.
They are not enough some inches
To grip our fingers again
Consciousness fades away, i feel pain
And the life slipping through fingers
I have one more attempt
To break free from the iron cold bonds
But something holds me tight
And from the depths, I hear Jill’s voice calling for me.

Chapter 11 Deliverance
02:26
|
|||
I woke up in a cold sweat
With a loud moan that almost came out as a scream
It seemed that someone was pulling me from my leg
And then with trembling hands, I touched Jill
Her forehead is hot, she is all wet
She calls in delirium, as in that nightmare
I'm looking for clothes in the darkness
And there's no one to come to help us
I need to get out of here
But there`s no use my eyesight
The risk is there, I can feel it
And the dog`s going to break the chain with fright
Jill’s every drawn breath chafes my skin
I carry her with my bent arm
Another hand extended out groping in the dark
There's something there, I know it
A light fell through in shafts illuminating murk
There should be a door for saving us
Ah, I pray if only it was not locked
I've had enough of this nonsense
This is the final straw of torment
I Push the door and cross the threshold
All in perfect whiteness, snow on snow
And I go, don't know where - with a daughter in my arms
I seem to lose the thread of mind,
Gradually fades away the consciousness's light

Chapter 12 Epilogue
02:40
|
|||
Three months have passed since that night
Memories of vistas
Of bygone times recede
Within sight of humdrum life
Right in the broad daylight
And I just want to forget all about it
On the road not far from old factory
On the road not far from that old factory
Someone pick us up to my satisfactory
While the spell of fine weather
With the spell of fine weather
No one even could imagine night blizzard
That fretted our gizzard and severed something forever
I don`t know
What kind of place
We went through
Don`t know how we got into and then unthreaded a maze
But I hope now it`s closed forever
And it will never - Never burst (break) its fetters again
And it will never ever break its shackles again
We were out for a long time
Then I regained consciousness
Cause something crawling on my spine
The car bowled along the road and then lost control
That night my friend -
She passed away, and no solace - she fell prey
Every night
I come back there
Through horrible murk
Again and again just like a burke,
The unfortunate part of it all is not my woe
The worst thing that Jill has changed
And I don`t recognize her anymore
I’m afraid of her.
